Omaka Lodge is a large country home designed by renowned New Zealand architect, the late Jack Cantlon, one of the founders of what is now Chapple Architecture.  Designed as the main family homestead for a large sheep and beef station, Omaka Lodge was built in 1977-78, largely from native Rimu timber that was milled on the surrounding station. Jack Cantlon was well ahead of his time in many respects, and Omaka Lodge has an interior that is beautiful and timeless, whilst also offering space for boutique venue hire for small groups.

As well as being a beautiful residence, Omaka Lodge is surrounded by several acres of beautiful grounds, including our beautiful 5-Star gardens that have featured in NZ House & Garden magazine. The grounds and gardens contain a large variety of mature trees and well established planting, a sealed tennis court and a swimming pool.  The driveway to Omaka Lodge is sealed, and we have a sealed parking area, as well as plenty of field space for vehicles to park.

The house and grounds of Omaka Lodge combine to offer a wide variety of spaces that are ideal for boutique venue hire for small groups occasoins such as:
